What Kind of Training Do We Do?
May 8, 2008
Some in the community might ask "What kind of training does
the West I-10 Fire Dept provide to its members?". While our
training is ongoing we would like to share some pictures from
some of our latest training outings including a month long focus
on vehicle extrication. The West I-10 Fire Dept would like to
thank Golbow's Garage for the donations of all the cars we got
to train on. For more info on training to be a fireman please
visit the "Volunteer" section of this website.
Baskin Robbins
National Fallen Firefighter 31 Cent Scoop Night
April 30, 2008
The West I-10 Fire Dept was pleased once again to be apart of
the Baskin Robbins 31 cent scoop night. On this night Baskin
Robbins and its parent company Dunkin Donuts honor firefighters
and contribute over 300K to the National Fallen Firefighter
Foundation.
Shattered
Dreams
April 17, 2008 and April 18, 2008
The West I-10 Fire Dept along with West Harris County EMS,
Texas DPS, Harris County Sheriffs Dept and Memorial Hermann
Lifeflight was privileged enough to work with Pope John 23rd
High School on their Shattered Dreams program.
Shattered Dreams is a two day long program that brings young
people face to face with the realities associated with drunk
driving. On April 17th and 18th 2008 the students got to
see the live "crash scene" and then hear from some of the
responders as to how drunk driving effects us all. The
West I-10 Fire Dept would like to thank all that contributed and
helped make this a memorable experience.
